History
Wrights Chainsaws was established as part of a service Station business in Kangaroo Valley in 1975. In 1981, following a high demand for the Stihl product in the area, Laurie and Fay Wright sold their service station and moved the chainsaw business to Nowra, creating one of the first Stihl only shops in Australia.
Larger premises were required in 1987 and the move was made to the present site in Kinghorne St. These premises have been extended twice since to encompass the ever-increasing business.
.In 1989 David Mackay joined the team to ensure the same level of high service could be maintained as the business continued to grow.
Over the years Wrights have been able to ensure that a full display of all Stihl products is available in-store. They are proud of the high quality product produced by Stihl and support it with same day repair service in most instances.
Stihl have expanded their range of products from Chainsaws and brush cutters to include:
-
High Pressure Cleaner
-
Hedge Trimmers
-
Vacuum Cleaners
- Personal Protection Equipment
With the turn of the Century, Fay decided to reduce her day-to-day involvement and David & Juanita Mackay (Laurie and Fays daughter and son-in-law) were welcomed as partners in the Wrights Chainsaw business.
During March 2003 Wrights overcame tough competition to take out the prestigious Stihl Dealer of the Year Award for New South Wales. A wide range of criteria including sales, performance and presentation were used to select the award winner.
The business has continued to grow and in 2008 James Bricklebank was appointed as an apprentice to ensure they could meet the servicing needs of their customers into the future.
Wright's Chainsaws were once again awarded the State dealer of the year trophy for New South Wales for 2008.
When people of the Shoalhaven hear the name Stihl, they associate it with Wrights Chainsaws Nowra.
